By Jeannie Jewelry

By Jeannie is a jewelry line that is handcrafted by designer Jeannie Vianney and I have to say, I love the unique and unconventional look of her pieces!
In her necklaces, Jeannie uses a mix of different sized chain and carnelian to create an asymetrical look that works perfectly with todays funkier fashions. By Jeannie offers a small line of necklaces and earrings in both sterling silver and gold, although the gold is not solid gold, but rather gold-filled. Necklaces range from approximately $50 - $100 and for that price I would like to see real gold as opposed to gold-filled, but then again I am a jewelry snob.

Check out the entire line at ByJeannie.com and let us know what you think!

Offical Shoe of the Miss USA Pageant

The Steve Madden "Decorate" is the official shoe of the Miss USA 2006 pageant and quite honestly, couldn't they have done better then this? Perhaps it's just not my style, but to me the Decorate looks like a cheap $10 prom shoe that you picked out before you had any taste or money. Where was Manolo Blahnik or Jimmy Choo when the Miss USA shoe sponsorship was being given out?!

If you think I'm completely out of my mind and you love the Steve Madden "Decorate", you can score a pair over at SteveMadden.com for $89.95. One redeeming factor about this shoe is that it is fully customizable. You can choose the color and material of the upper, the midsole, the heel and even the footbed, and Steve Madden will build your very own shoe, all for under $100. Now THAT is a cool concept!

How to Wear Skulls

As I'm sure you've noticed, skulls are the hottest trend in fashion at the moment. From skull scarves, shirts and pants to skull jewelry, hair accessories and handbags. Skulls are no longer reserved to bikers and punk rockers. Skulls are HAUTE and have been ever since celebs started wearing the $450 Alexander McQueen skull scarf. So, what we have for you are tips on how to wear skulls without looking like a washed up rock star or 80's throw back.

First things first, if you are an actual biker (as in you own and ride a motorcycle), the lead singer in a punk band or are under the age of 17, you can pretty much wear skulls how ever you please. Otherwise, here are some tips:

Try an embroidered tattoo-style skull. The artistic appeal of a tattoo-inspired skull, along with the detail of embroidery can add a luxe feeling to a plain pair of jeans. Wear the skull on your back pocket, the front or side of the leg. The jeans pictured here are available at Delias for $78. Pair this look with anything but black to keep this look updated and fresh. Skull embroidery also works well on hats and jackets, but not at the same time. The skull trend should be worn subtly and sparingly.

Try an allover skull print. A way to wear skulls subtly is to wear tiny skulls as an allover print on a shirt or tank top. From afar your skulls can look as innocent as a polka dot, and little do they know how tough you really are! Normally I wouldn't pair skulls with black, but the smallness of the skulls on the racer back tank pictured to the left, paired with the girly lace trim make this tank impossibly perfect! This skull tank is available at Alloy for $19. I also love the cream colored hooded top that has a small green skull print. The fashionable shape and unusual color scheme keep this look fresh and fun for spring. This top is available at Delias for $29.50.

Try a small piece of skull jewelry. Another fun way to introduce the skull trend into your current wardrobe is to pick up a piece of skull jewelry. Choose something small and feminine (well, as feminine a skull you can find) like the small skull and crossbone studs or skull and crossbone pendant with dangling heart, pictured here. Wear the skull necklace with a flirty spring dress and heels to keep the look fun and feminine. The subtle skull studs can be worn with anything from jeans to a bikini, so be creative. Emitations has a great selection of skull jewelry starting at $25. Just remember to wear your skulls sparingly!

Naughty Secretary Club Jewelry

Oh boy! While shopping aimlessly on the internet, I've found some of the most randomly unique jewelry at Naughty Secretary Club!

If you like quirky, kitchy fashion you will absolutely LOVE their jewelry. I fell in love with the bracelet made out of vintage Scrabble letters and ordered one that says: "PLAYER". Why? Because I'm a closet Scrabble player (shhhhhh...don't tell any one)! Naughty Secretary Club has tons of interesting jewelry, purses and home accessories as well as many one-of-a-kind items. Like the hand painted Eazy-E purse or the totally wild Moped Racer necklace.

The designer behind Naughty Secretary Club is Jennifer Perkins and we couldn't have thought of a catchier description, so we pulled this from her bio:

"Jennifer graduated from South West Texas State University with a BA in psychology and a minor in philosophy. With this lofty degree in hand, Jennifer set out to conquer the business world. She managed to land a job as a secretary. With few challenges to pursue and lots of time on her hands, she decided to return to her childhood passion- jewelry making. Jennifer combines all of her fave things: music, pop culture and vintage goodies in her sassy jewelry and accessories."

The Perfect Shoes

Okay ladies, this is it, I'm going to let you in on something life-altering. I have found the worlds perfect shoe!!! Before I go any further, let's define the perfect shoe: Stylish, sexy, comfortable and affordable. I know, I know, sexy and comfortable are like oil and water, a nearly impossible mix. But it's true, I've found the holy grail of shoes. Introducing M.O.D.:

M.O.D. is a brand of contemporary womens shoes that are honestly the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. I knew nothing about the brand when I purchased the white studded platform heels shown below. After wearing them for a wild weekend in Las Vegas, I thought it was just a fluke (or all the martinis) that my feet did not hurt AT ALL after wearing them all day and night. I went online to look for another pair of M.O.D. heels in black and found out that M.O.D. is actually well known for their comfort.

Here is what others are saying about the M.O.D shoe line:

"Unique, MODern designs have never felt so good! For stylish comfort shoes you can wear virtually anytime and anywhere, look no farther than the M.O.D collection. From their unique soles to their fashionable upper designs, M.O.D. shoes provide the best looking comfort you'll find anywhere."

It gets better. M.O.D. heels are excellent quality (they are made of real leather, etc) and they are affordable. The average price range is $40 - $60 and shipping is free at Zappos. I just ordered two more pairs!

Fashion Circus - Los Angeles

The circus is coming, the circus is coming! And it's dressed fabulously!! The Fashion Circus is coming to Los Angeles on April 22nd, 2006.

What exactly is the fashion circus, you ask? Well thank god it's not like the Los Angeles Fashion District (which i only recommend if you enjoy bacon wrapped hotdogs. Other then that. Pretty useless). The Fashion Circus is a rootsy fashion lifestyle show. Similar to a convention for retail buyers, but the public is also admitted to the Fashion Circus, where you can check out and buy clothing, accessories, art and more from up and coming designers and artist. It's comparable to a flea market, but way cooler. So if you are in the Los Angeles area and are looking for an interesting shopping opportunity, go check out the Fashion Circus! You can pre-register on the website, or tickets are $5 at the door.
